SiMBA ~ Simpson's Memory Box Appeal

Picture
SiMBA was introduced to Simpson's Centre for Reproductive Health in Edinburgh as a result of a donation from a bereaved parent and was founded by a team of dedicated individuals in October 2005. They were officially registered as a Scottish Charity in 2007. They provide Memory Boxes to any Maternity Unit in Scotland who wishes to have them ~ it is a treasure chest of mementos such as "the blanket of love", birth acknowledgement certificate, hand and foot prints and in some cases photos. SiMBA also provide a Tree of Tranquillity ~ a stunning hand crafted life sized sculpture, created in response to the needs of parents ~ each leaf represents a baby that has died during pregnancy or close to the time of birth. They also refurbish rooms in Maternity wards to provide a much needed Family Room, for bereaved parents to spend further time with their baby in a peaceful, non clinical setting & where family members and friends may also visit.

So Go and Run Free are delighted and honoured to be (soon!!) providing Memory Boxes in the Highlands and Islands through working with SiMBA!

She set up Landon's Gift in remembrance of those whom we cherish for such a short time. She says, "When I realized that I would never have another photo of my precious Landon other than what I already had, I was beyond sad. Photos are memories, and within a few days, I decided that I could make my own angel memories. I stared making angel name memories and angel photo memories and I decided to share these memories with other angel families." Click HERE.
